Solo Play
Solo mode means one player runs Nanus without a referee.
Use the Nanus core rules for character creation, exploration, encounters, combat, and advancement.
Use the Solo pages for unanswered questions, run structure, and one-PC combat support.
Solo Loop
- Choose a goal.
- Define the target and immediate approach.
- Enter the site and run normal Nanus turns.

Retainer Loyalty in Solo Play
When retainers are present, check loyalty only when fiction supports it.
Common triggers:
- the retainer was treated unfairly
- the retainer was exposed to extraordinary danger
- the retainer witnessed something terrifying
- the group pursued goals that conflict with the retainer's interests
Do not run automatic loyalty checks only because a run ended.
